Ukraine is famous not only for its tasty national cuisine but for the variety of drinks either. Their rich assortment has been formed during centuries. For now, there are numerous national recipes and every Ukrainian hostess has her own secret techniques of beverage preparations.
The most popular homemade drinks are kissel (a boiled drink mostly made of fruits with adding a starch) and uzvar (made of dried fruits and berries).
Among the alcoholic beverages, the most famous is horilka (the ratio of distilled alcohol and water), spotykach (an infused drink made of berries and vodka) and medovukha (a low-alcohol beverage which is honey-based).
